ABA Therapy
A therapeutic approach that focuses on understanding and modifying behavior in order to improve an individual's functioning and quality of life. ABA is widely used to help individuals with various developmental and behavioral challenges, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation
An assessment that must be completed when the person starts services and updated at least once every three years.
Individual Treatment Plan Development and Progress Monitoring
A service that covers the development of the person's initial ITP and ongoing monitoring of the person's progress. The ITP is a person-centered plan of care.
Coordinated Care Conferences
A voluntary meeting between the person, their family/caregivers, EIDBI providers, other professionals and/or other individuals the person/family requests to: review CMDE or ITP, integrate and coordinate services across providers and service delivery systems to develop the ITP.
Interventions
Also known as "Adaptive Behavior Treatment". Can be done on an individual, group, and higher intensity basis.
Family/Caregiver Training and Counseling
An EIDBI service that covers specialized training, education and support for a person’s family/caregiver.
